The Smart Kids sessions are the first steps in the S.M.A.R.T. (Skills Mastery and Resistance Training) Moves program meant to prepare and educate children to avoid and/or resist alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and premature sexual activity. Participants are exposed to various activities designed to hone their decision-making and critical-thinking skills. By participating in this program, the kids are well on their way to living a full and drug free life!

March Contest Winners Announced
Newburg Club congratulates its March Image Makers contest winners. Image Makers is a year-round program enables Club members ages 6 – 18 to learn and practice black-and-white, color, digital and alternative process photography. The winners of each month will have their art sent into an annual regional photography contest in Michigan. This program encourages girls and boys to learn and practice photography, expressing themselves in creative and innovative ways!

ImageMakers Program at Newburg Club
 
 
Later in March the Newburg Club will be launching a BGCA program called ImageMakers. This program encourages girls and boys to learn and practice photography, expressing themselves in creative and innovative ways!

This year-round program enables Club members ages 6 – 18 to learn and practice black-and-white, color, digital and alternative process photography. There is an annual photography contest that provides local, regional and national recognition. Club members’ photographs selected at the contest’s national level are exhibited at BGCA’s National Conference and other events.

March Member of the Month
 
Art is Brittany's favorite program at the Newburg Boys & Girls Club. She loves creating new things and being able to express herself through art. Brittany comes to the Newburg Boys and Girls Club because it is fun and she enjoys the people. Club staff have noticed that Brittany exhibits several leadership qualities that make her a good role model for other Club members.
 
Britany is a 7th grader at Thomas Jefferson Middle School. She maintains good grades and works hard to reach the honor roll. Brittany's favorite subjects in school are math and communications. In her spare time she likes listening to music and reading fiction novels.

February Member of the Month
 
 
 
 
Jayda R. was chosen as member of the month for February. Jayda is an 8th grader at Thomas Jefferson Middle school. She is an honor roll student and her favorite subjects are math and social studies. Jayda enjoys playing volleyball in her spare time. She has shown great leadership around the Newburg Club by helping with homework and serving snacks to other Club members. Jayda is greatly appreciated around the Club for all of her contributions!

January Member of the Month
 
 
 
 
Meet Toytiana! She is 17 years old and attends Southern High School where she is set to graduate next year. She is a member of the school basketball team and ROTC. Toytiana was named member of the month for January at the Newburg Club. She has a great attitude and is willing to help out in any area of the Club.
